Member of Technical Staff - Coding Agents, Post Training (RL, Evals)

xAI is hiring a Member of Technical Staff to advance Grok's capabilities as a coding agent. This role sits at the intersection of post-training, reinforcement learning, and evaluations: you'll design RL environments around real software engineering tasks, build evaluation suites that reflect what users actually do with a coding agent, and ship the training improvements that close the gap. Day to day, you'll partner with the product, data, and infra teams to operationalize feedback loops between agent behavior in the wild and the next training run. The work has high product leverage — improvements you ship show up directly in Grok's coding and agentic offerings. This role is a fit for engineers and researchers who are excited about the agent paradigm shift and want to define how a frontier lab evaluates and trains coding agents.
