Software Engineer, Agentic Systems

Perplexity is hiring a Software Engineer to build agentic AI systems that go beyond simple question-answering to autonomously research, plan, and execute complex multi-step tasks on behalf of users. This role is part of Perplexity's Research Residency and applied engineering efforts in agentic AI. You will design and implement agent architectures that combine LLM reasoning with tool use, memory systems, and planning capabilities.
